Set You Free begins on a dark road during a blinding rain storm. Several chapters later, a closing line reads, “Shifting into drive, Blake glanced back in the rearview as he pushed the car forward into the darkness.” In many ways, this line encapsulates one of the themes of Set You Free. In that moment, Blake is watching the wreckage of his past disappear in the rearview mirror. He is also moving forward into darkness. Set You Free is about individuals who are struggling to leave their past behind, individuals who are moving ahead without being able to see clearly what lies ahead. There are times in our lives when we travel the dark road, looking back at the disasters of life. Set You Free is a book about those moments in life.
